Barbara
She’s an economist. Working in the field of entrepreneur finances, business planning, preparing investment reports, counseling at making of business models. She tries to predict future as she daily overlooks cash flow and, like many entrepreneurs, faces challenges how to finance projects with limited assets. When she’s not into finances she’s an artist. Clay is wonderful to smirch it, research it and to create with it. She was introduced to clay at Urban Magušar’s course. She was so deeply attracted that she took a few years course of Ines Kovačič, learning to shape it on pottery spindle. Then she went over to England to get new knowledge also from Richard Phethean. In 2010 she won the Major Purchase Prize at Piran Extempore for her work “Family Album”. She wants a day would have 25 hours since she is interested in almost anything. But she especially adores the sea, sailing and diving. Adriatic, The Red Sea, Polinesia, The Great Barrier Reef are the spots she’s already visited. Next time she goes with her family.
Boštjan
He was in advertising most of his professional life. Started at Radio Študent (where he also stepped in front of the microphone for the first time), continued at advertising agency Virgo and later as a partner, account and finance director at Votan komunikacije (formerly Votan Leo Burnett). In the manner of Ogilvy’s Ad-man he went through all of the key functions of the creation process (except design), strategic planning, account handling, finances and other aspects of the field (under Advertising Chamber he both presided The Advertising Arbitration Court and hosted several concluding ceremonies and/or daily programme at Slovene Advertising Festival). For the rest of his life (with Barbara) he outlined a completely new challenge. Closely connected to mountains, to reaching independence with a family business, to new surroundings and new people. Although when you’re used to be an entrepreneur starting anew the second time is not as stressful as the first … He played and then refereed basketball for almost thirty years and he remained faithful to radio until recently, deeaying first at Radio Študent, then at Radio Hit and finally at Radio Gorenc nearby. In love with music, nature and his large family.
B & B
When they met each other on the other part of the world, that was in The Andes … surrounded with mountains. And when after coming back they decided to stay together they knew that would be … surrounded with mountains. On sunny weekends they used to visit the most beautiful towns of Gorenjska region. Križe was at the top of their list and when being offered, they grabbed the oportunity with both hands. They started this project which they – with usual troubles attached to these kind of efforts – succesfully finished. Unfortunately for few potential clients it is not a brothel with casino as the saying went in the village, but Base Camp with Glinart – B&B hostel (regarding their initials what else could they open) with pottery workshops. The Creative House in the middle of the mountains. Connected to mountains as it can be: at the foot of the home mountain Kriška gora, that is The Kamnik Alps, just a range from Karavanke and with breathtaking views at Triglav and The Julian Alps. As guides of the Alpine Association of Slovenia they can even take you there.
Base Camp
Base Camp is a low energy consumption house with low carbon footprint. We tended to furnish it with natural materials. All rooms have air-recuperation, water and the house are heated with biomass energy.
